ASABI
Posted 22 December 2015
ASABI is the Asagaya School of Art in Tokyo. I was taken there for the first time by my friend and collaborator Hiroshi Maeda, a former sutdent of the school and Ko Nakajima, Tokyo-based video artist with whom I had had many exchanges. Hiroshi worked closely with Georges-Albert and myself in Paris setting up many of our exchange events with Japan. This event in 1987 is one of the first. It took place over Macintosh computers and modems. Other artists from Budapest participated in this exchange as well.
The exchange was made using Macintosh computers connected by modems. Some images were merely sent to one side or the other. Others were reworked and sent back. I’ve tried to indicate in the caption the trail of each.
